Non-profit public benefit corporation The DotGreen Registry Corporation has selected Neustar Inc (NYSE:NSR) to provide the registry and DNS (Domain Name System) services required to support the .green global Top-Level Domain, the services provider said on Wednesday.

No financial details were disclosed.

According to the company, DotGreen is preparing its application to the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to manage the new .green top-level domain in 2010. Conceived in 2007, .green was the first environmental TLD proposed to international environmental groups.

Neustar provides a reliable and secure registry and DNS technology service. The company also has existing relationships with over 250 domain name registrars worldwide, offering a global distribution channel.
